The Madel Bag does it all, combining compact functionality with a stylish sensibility which references Scandinavian influences. The raw, unlined leather gives this design a distinct point of view, with an adjustable strap which can be removed to convert the style to a clutch, while internal card pockets are cleverly integrated within the three-pocket design, all sealed with a large, leather flap which closes with secure double magnets. Material

Leather is a natural, renewable material made from animal hides that have been preserved and softened through a tanning process. Vegetable tanning is the oldest tanning method, using natural plant tannins without the use of chromium sulphate salts. Plant extracts from roots, bark, leaves, and seeds that are rich in tannins are used to preserve and impart colour into the leather.

This tanning method takes longer, and can be more resource intensive, however it is our preferred tanning method as it uses natural and renewable raw materials. Vegetable tanned leather has a distinct aesthetic and firmer feel, that wears and ages beautifully.

Leather lasts a long time, ages well and is easy to care for and repair. Unlike many synthetic materials, leather develops patina over time and gets better with age.

They are a family business, founded in 1991, and are now one of our main suppliers of leather goods. To facilitate better understanding and insight into our product manufacturing and responsible sourcing, we have engaged the services of a local representative who can coordinate with the B.N. team on-ground.

Care Instructions

To maintain the beauty of your ELK bag we recommend protective sprays and using a good quality leather conditioner to treat the product, which will increase its longevity. Do not put leather pieces on the ground or rub against abrasive surfaces. Leather is a natural material and will wear with age and use.
