The Miri Slouch Bag is a medium-sized crossbody crafted from soft leather which creates a slouch style. With both an adjustable and detachable crossbody strap and a detachable gathered handle, the bag also has a main zip opening, an internal zip pocket and patch pocket.

Leather is a natural, renewable material made from animal hides that have been preserved and softened through a tanning process. We select our leathers based on their individual properties and the intended application. Leather lasts a long time, ages well and is easy to care for and repair. Leather will develop patina over time and gets better with age.

This product is made from leather sourced from a Leather Working Group (LWG) audited and rated tannery. LWG aims to improve the environmental impact of the leather industry by assessing and certifying leather manufacturers. The audit protocol covers energy use, waste, water use and chemicals, as well as traceability.

Located in Delhi, India, Bharat have been making leather designs for us since 2017. To facilitate better understanding and insight into our product manufacturing and responsible sourcing, we have engaged the services of a local representative who can coordinate with the Bharat team on-ground. Bharat's company value is to "combine the best of people and technology innovation with the support of sustainable and safe production".

Bharat are SA8000 Social Accountability certified, demonstrating their commitment to responsible and ethical workplace practices. They are also members of Sedex and undergo regular SMETA social compliance audits.

Care Instructions

To maintain the beauty of your ELK bag we recommend protective sprays and using a good quality leather conditioner to treat the product, which will increase its longevity. Do not put leather pieces on the ground or rub against abrasive surfaces. Leather is a natural material and will wear with age and use. The dye in the leather can sometimes rub off so please be aware of this when wearing light clothing or placing the leather item on light surfaces.
