This Mother’s Day, we wanted to pause and acknowledge the original mother — the Earth that sustains us all.
At ELK, we often speak about responsibility, care and legacy. These are values shaped not only by our own families, but by the people and places that have influenced us over time. We believe the most powerful lessons are passed from one generation to the next: to create thoughtfully, to care deeply, and to do better where we can.
We would love for you to share what gift from Mother Earth you are most thankful for. Here are a few from the ELK Family.
Thank you for being part of this conversation.
With love, Marnie
"On the days life gets really loud, I grab my board and that's all it takes. The ocean has always been my reset. The sound of the waves is like breathwork, the water revitalises me, clears my head, clears my skin. It's the part of this planet I'm most grateful for."
- Jess, Social Media & Marketing Specialist

"The family farm was a place away from the speed of the city. Days began alongside the sun and kookaburras’ cries, and dusk brought the calls of bush stone-curlews. The land teaches us about life’s cycles. That the earth has a rhythm we have the privilege of existing within."
- Alana, Sustainability Coordinator

"I grew up by the ocean and I always enjoyed the magic of our beautiful environment. It wasn't until I moved away from the ocean that I realised how much of an important role it had played in my life. Walking along the beach or being in the water always reminds me of how small we are and it gives me perspective. It grounds me like nothing else and reminds me of what's important in this short and precious life. The ocean will always be my home and I can't imagine living without it."
- Matilda, ELK Barwon Heads & Newtown Store Manager

“As a keen home cook, I am thankful to Mother Earth for the delicious local produce we have access to.”
- Bec, Marketing Manager
"Sand between my paws, salt in the air, a stranger dog to chase. There is truly nowhere on this planet that makes me happier. I run, I splash, I roll. Every single visit feels like the first time and I never want to leave. I leave a little piece of myself everywhere I go, one pawprint at a time."
- Wally, Head of Zen
