GIVING

GIVING BACK, CREATING CHANGE

At ELK, giving back to our planet and community is at the heart of what we do. From volunteering to donations, our initiatives are designed to create meaningful impact.

VOLUNTEERING: EMPOWERING OUR TEAM

We believe in supporting our team to make a difference:
Paid Volunteer Days: All permanent ELK employees receive two paid volunteer days annually.
Group Volunteering: We host team volunteering events throughout the year, building community while giving back.

DONATIONS: SUPPORTING CAUSES THAT MATTER

ELK contributes to both local and global communities through financial support, product donations, and partnerships with charities. Some of these relationships are long-term, while others are tied to specific campaigns or fundraising events. You can find a detailed breakdown of our donations in our Annual Transparency Report.

1% FOR THE PLANET
ELK is proud to be a member of 1% for the Planet, committing 1% of all sales to environmental non-profits.
Joining 1% for the Planet reflects our commitment to climate action and aligns with our three pillars of giving: environmental protection, empowering women, and supporting local communities.

"Protecting our environment and giving back to create positive change are core values for ELK. Joining 1% for the Planet is a formal commitment to progressing our journey towards better products and better business".

TREE PROJECT
Since April 2020, ELK has donated $2 from every online order to TreeProject to support indigenous Australian vegetation. TreeProject trains volunteers to grow seedlings at home, which are then planted to restore Victorian ecosystems and create nature corridors.

"This investment is one for future generations and we truly value partnering with a company that is so proactive in their ethical and sustainability practices.”
Stephanie Menere, TreeProject President

EMPOWERING WOMEN & SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES

FITTED FOR WORK
ELK partners with Fitted for Work through their RED (Retail Experience Development) program, helping women under 25 gain experience, confidence, and mentoring to launch a career in retail. This program addresses barriers for young women around high youth unemployment, lack of experience and networks and low levels of confidence.

"For many women, the first step to getting work is simply having a suitable outfit to wear to interviews. This program aims to help women experiencing disadvantage secure sustainable employment".

KARRKAD KANJDJI TRUST (KKT)
A valued ELK charity partner, KKT brings together Indigenous landowners and supporters to address some of the most pressing issues for Arnhem Land, our nation, and the world. Their work spans regenerating our natural environment, tackling climate change and supporting the continuation of the world’s oldest living culture.

One of KKT's key pillars is the support of women rangers, whose involvement in local decision-making strengthens natural resource management and conservation outcomes. Women play an integral role in the holistic management of Country, complementing the broader environmental and cultural goals of KKT.

ELK regularly donates products and textiles to local charities and creative projects that focus on:

- Environmental initiatives and climate action
- Empowering women
- Strengthening local communities

Each year, we contribute approximately 30kg of textiles to small organisations, schools, and creative projects, helping to repurpose materials and prevent waste
