DC (DISTRIBUTION CENTRE) ASSISTANT – FULL TIME

ABOUT THE ROLE

The DC Assistant plays a key role in the daily operations of the Distribution Centre, with the responsibilities of the position varying from day to day. This role ensures that inventory is accurately processed through receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching. Reporting to the DC Manager, you will work closely and collaboratively with the team to ensure tasks and goals are met within the required timeframes. To support the achievement of these objectives, you will use tools including; WMS, ShipStation, Shopify and equipment including our Delivery Van, a WAV (Work Assist Vehicle) and Forklift. Sustainable and effective waste management, including recommendations for improvement will also form an integral part of this role. When Distribution Centre demands shift, you will be versatile and redirect your focus to functions that require additional support and attention.

***This role is based in our Distribution Centre in Reservoir, Melbourne. We are unable to consider sponsorship or remote work for this role***

WHAT WE'LL LOVE ABOUT YOU

You come with minimum 2 years experience in a similar role (or a position with transferable skills), have a solutions-focused mindset, self motivated and renowned for your attention to detail and efficiency.

WHO YOU ARE?

  • Microsoft 365 Office (Excel beginner)
  • Experience utilising Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Familiarity with Shopify (bonus)
  • Experience with dispatch software eg ShipStation (bonus)
  • Experience working within Safety systems & frameworks e.g Safety Culture
  • Forklift License (highly regarded)
  • Driver’s License (essential)
  • Leading a team (highly regarded)
  • First Aid Certificate (bonus)

ELK, a pioneer of independent Australian design was founded by husband and wife duo Marnie Goding and Adam Koniaras in 2004 in Melbourne, Australia. Founded on a belief in creativity, innovative design and an authentic approach where people are at the heart of every decision.

ELK creates bi-annual collections that are informed by a design ethos where simplicity meets innovation. Seasonal collections typically lean towards natural hues and maximise the use of fine quality raw materials sourced from all over the world.
