38% Viscose 32% Non-Mulesed Wool 30% Recycled Nylon

Viscose is a man-made cellulosic fibre (MMCF), derived from wood pulp. It has a silk-like feel, fluid drape and comfortable breathability. Through our work with not-for-profit organisation Canopy, we are sourcing more than 95% of our MMCF fibres from producers that have a dark green shirt rating according to the most current CanopyStyle Hot Button Report, which is the highest possible rating. This rating is a reflection of Canopy's assessment of the producers' engagement with CanopyStyle audits, their contribution to conservation, innovation initiatives, sourcing policies, transparency and chemical management.

Merino wool is a natural animal fibre. It is known for maintaining warmth while offering breathability, making it a comfortable fibre for layering. Merino wool is especially fine, creating a soft finish that has a lower likelihood of pilling or causing itchiness. Responsible animal husbandry practices are important for ensuring that sheep are treated with respect. For this reason, we have prioritised sourcing the merino wool fibre in this fabric from farms in Australia that are phasing out mulesing.

Polyester is a synthetic, man-made fibre, which is both durable and easy to care for. Unlike its virgin counterpart, this recycled polyester is made from pre-consumer and post-consumer plastic waste which is deconstructed and then remanufactured into a textile fibre.

Recycled polyester also has a lower carbon footprint compared to virgin polyester.

We have been working with Jimmy Fashions since 2010. They are a smaller, independent supplier with a focus on design and quality, and this is one of our longest standing supplier relationships. With owner Jimmy Shen and his team working closely with our Design and Production departments, this family-owned business has grown with ELK and now supplies much of our woven apparel.

In early 2024, Jimmy installed rooftop solar panels on his factory, and estimates more than 50% of the factory's electricity to come from this renewable source. The factory also undergoes annual SMETA social compliance audits, which are conducted by a third party and provide transparency into worker wellbeing and wages.
