The Forde Leather Backpack has been created with versatility and functionality in mind. Crafted from cow leather that soft but structured and durable. The opening of the backpack is wide to accommodate larger items and closes with a zip. A curved handle at the top of this leather bag allows you to grab hold of it on the go and is just one of the three ways it can be carried. In addition to the handle, the straps can be used as a backpack and can also be adjusted to be used as an across the shoulder bag. A zippered section is located on the back to keep any precious items safe

Leather is a natural material made from animal hides that have been preserved and softened through a tanning process. We select our leathers based on their properties and the intended application.

Leather lasts a long time, ages well and is easy to care for and repair. Unlike many synthetic materials, leather develops patina over time and gets better with age. 

  • To maintain the beauty of your ELK bag we recommend protective sprays and using a good quality leather conditioner to treat the product, which will increase its longevity. Do not put leather pieces on the ground or rub against abrasive surfaces. Leather is a natural material and will wear with age and use. The dye in the leather can sometimes rub off so please be aware of this when wearing light clothing or placing the leather item on light surfaces.

B.N. Enterprises, located in Delhi, India, has been a long-term supplier of ELK, starting with a small collection in 2013. B.N. is a family owned and operated business, who specialise in leather goods.

B.N. are members of the Worldly HIGG platform, where they report on electricity, water, waste and chemical impact.     Fantastic

    The backpack I ordered online came within a few days. The returns form was in the box, so it would have been easy to return if required. However, I had no desire to return the bag. It is lovely for my trips into town and carries all I need. It is comfortable to carry all day and looks great. I love this backpack.

    Great backpackbut wait there is more. . .

    I travel a lot so i need a compact deep bag that can take quite a few items whilst leaving me hands free. The option to purchase an additional shoulder trap to make the back pack a cross bodypack was brilliant. Now I travel with a well made, strong and comfortable bag with my hands free to carry other bags. Great. Great . Great.

    Please do not post this - just feedback for your consideration.

    He have other backpack/handbags that have a feature that the Forde is missing and needs in my opinion. In the top/middle of the strap is a piece bound around the leather that stops the slide as you put it on your back. When I put it on my back the strap on the shoulder I first put it on, lengthens, as there is nothing to stop it doing that, so the other shoulder then has a shorter strap length - which makes for it sitting lopsided on my back. I will likely go somewhere to get a piece attached to remedy this as I will end up not using the bag because of this annoyance.

    Just thought I should let you know for further bags you make make with this sort of design :-)
